Program Notes:

Milkweed was written for my friend and Trombonist Daniel Torres. He had asked me to write a piece for him, and while he is a jazz player, I decided to write something more lyrical for him, a little challenge! As a composer I am often inspired by nature, as the name suggests I was thinking about Summer and butterflies while writing this. This piece was selected to be performed at EIU’s NAFME student recital.
